Viz Media Announces Rooster Fighter Streaming Date After [Adult Swim] Debut
Rooster Fighter will premiere on [Adult Swim]'s Toonami block on March 14, 2026, and Viz Media has announced where the new anime can be streamed after broadcast.
Rooster Fighter is a new anime from Viz Media and HERO’S INC that will premiere on [Adult Swim]’s Toonami block on March 14, 2026, at midnight.
In addition to television broadcast, Viz Media also announced in a press release that fans will be able to stream the new series on Hulu on March 15, 2026, in the United States and on Disney+ in select countries.
Countries that will be able to stream Rooster Fighter on Disney+ include:
Andorra, Argentina, Australia, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, France, Germany, Gibraltar, Guatemala, Honduras, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Spain, the United Kingdom, Uruguay, and Venezuela.
Based on the popular web manga series by Shu Sakuratani, Rooster Fighter follows a wandering rooster named Keiji who doesn’t believe in staying in one place for too long. He’s also on a mission to find and kill the monster that murdered his sister. Keiji is later joined by his younger brother, Keisuke, when their father is abducted by monsters.
Despite preferring to live life as a lone cock, Keiji is known to possess a heart of gold. This sees him fight giant monsters throughout his travels using superhuman strength and a signature battle cry that easily parodies Dragonball attacks: “Kokekokko!“ Keiji’s penchant for fighting monsters also allows him to meet new allies like the young chick Piyoko and a chicken ex-girlfriend named Elizabeth.
Shu Sakuratani first published Rooster Fighter in 2020 on the HERO’S INC website, Comiplex, and it has since been translated into other languages, including English by Viz Media. Sakuratani is known in Japan for his parodical style of writing and art, with a penchant for high-octane action sequences, highly memorable characters, and a unique talent for lightening up high-stakes situations with well-placed humour.
